Lokrum has been connected to Dubrovnik for centuries and is known for its Benedictine monastery, botanical gardens, and peaceful natural setting.
During the 19th century, Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg transformed part of the island into a summer residence and expanded the gardens with exotic plants from around the world.

How to Find Lokrum Island
Lokrum Island is located directly across from Dubrovnik’s Old Town and can only be reached by boat.
Tickets & Transit: Official ferry boats depart regularly from the Old Town Harbor near Ploče Gate, and the crossing takes around 15 minutes. The €30 return ticket includes both the boat ride and admission to the island nature reserve.
